British artist Tom Lewis creates layered paintings and prints that are a colorful, playful and whimsical mix of traditional and digital techniques. His inventive narratives blend ancient and urban arts to explore beautiful, nonsensical meaning. In 2010, a selection of Lewis’ work was featured on the BBC TV show, The Junior Apprentice, and the exposure was a huge boost in a career that was just beginning to blossom.

Born in Birmingham, Lewis received his bachelor’s degree in fine art from Middlesex University. At present, he works as an artist and illustrator in the East End of London, where he describes himself as “a premium degree pencil wizard and mouse master of the first order.” To create his art, Lewis begins with a sketch and then switches back and forth between computer and canvas. He has exhibited worldwide, including Hong Kong, Singapore, The Hamptons and New York.
