Ancestral Futurism by Okuda San Miguel
A multitude inhabits the universe of Okuda San Miguel. Geometric characters, hybrid creatures, animals, and figures born from his imagination welcome us into a world where diversity becomes a shared language, a space where all identities, genders, races, and cultures are invited to coexist.
Like a kaleidoscope transforming reality into infinite possibilities, his work invites us to look again, to discover alternative ways of experiencing, imagining, and inhabiting the world.
Do you remember when as a child you could transform reality by playing with a kaleidoscope?
And, the last time you felt truly connected to nature? The last time you stepped into another world? When was the last time an artwork made you feel something?
About the Artist
Media artist Javid Guliyev presented an immersive installation exploring the relationship between digital imagery, physical space and human perception. Combining large-scale audiovisual systems, experimental materials and light-based elements, the exhibition transformed digital content into a sensory experience, reflecting the artist’s distinctive visual language shaped by cassette futurism and Y2K aesthetics.
